Falling Toward Apotheosis
The easiest way to describe the setting of Falling Toward Apotheosis would be to simply state that it takes place twenty minutes into the future. It’s just like our own delightful, real world (what, with all of the terrible reality TV shows, bad infomercials, and non-celebrities), but it’s just enough in the future (and more likely along alternate universe standards) to give us cool things like tanks that have giant boring drills on them to enable them to “dig” through earth.
This world is also meant to be a sort of parody of our world’s double standards/prejudices: jokingly a person’s nationality, occupation, style gives them an advantage in certain abilities/skills (i.e.: Irish are great brawlers and demomen, but also incredible drunks; Americans are adaptive and creative, but also over-zealous patriots; Native Americans are extremely skilled rangers, but might be encumbered with bead-work or can talk to nature; Computer Geeks can hack nearly everything, but cannot relate to a girl in any coherent manner; etc…). Simply remember that since this is a game we based upon comic book and mass media tropes, we set these things up merely for comedy.
